The prostate cancer is the most serious disease for the men. The radical prostatectomy is the medical term which refers the surgical treatment for the prostate cancer. In this surgical method, the prostate gland and some of the surrounding tissues are removed completely. This surgery takes four hours time to complete its process. There are four methods of radical prostatectomy are available. The surgeon decides the type based on your body condition. Before the procedure, the general anesthesia will be given. This helps to get relief from the pain. The surgeons should be very careful when doing this surgery, because, the nerves and blood vessels are surrounded by the prostate gland. The risks of this treatment method are blood clots, blood loss, heart attack, stroke, etc.
