Peroneal nerve is one branch of sciatic nerve. This nerve is essential one for the proper movements of foot, leg and toes. Common peroneal nerve dysfunction is a certain type of peripheral neuropathy. Peripheral neuropathy severely damages the nerves which are present at the outer part of the brain and spinal cord. This certain type of peripheral neuropathy gives the damage to the peroneal nerve. So, the affected people face several problems in the foot and leg. This type is possible for the people at any ages. The possible causes for this type are trauma, injury, fracture, excess pressure to the knees, etc. The problems which are associated with this condition are loss of sensation, numbness, tingling, abnormal walking, weakness present in the ankles and feet, etc. Corticosteroids will reduce the swollen condition.
